Our 13A's made the short trip out the road to take on Rathnew in another great battle at Shamrock Park tonight. Unfortunately our boys came up short again and went down to a 1-0 defeat. In a game of very few chances, the Rathnew rearguard held firm but needed the help of the woodwork to keep Hank Murnane's first half effort from putting Rovers one nil up. Minutes later Rían Ward picked up the ball just outside the box and let fly an unstoppable effort into the roof of the Rovers net. Both teams gave it their all in the second half but managed to cancel each other out for the remainder of the game. There is very little between the two sides and we look forward to our third league encounter later in the season.
