The first local Derby of the season for Wicklow Rovers under 9 Whites and it did not disappoint. Rathnew controlled the early stages before Rovers came roaring back. Cain McNeill had two lovely finishes for Rovers and it was no more than he deserved. Rathnew scored again but Rovers fired back, quick thinking from a throw for Eoin Matthew’s to fire the ball to the top of the net but it didn’t stop there. Rathnew where well up for it as well and yet again they scored but once more Rovers hit back with Tom Collins firing in the equaliser, it finished there, great game of football with both sets of players leaving everything on the football field
