Our under 15's welcomed Aughrim Rangers to Whitegates this morning for their premier league clash in glorious sun shine. Despite missing some players the team powered to a 3-0 win to claim the three points. The first half started with excellent play from Georgie O'Neill, Lorcan Sinnott and Daniel Kavanagh who were linking up brightly on the left hand side and causing Aughrim issues with good interplay football. Charlie Czwalina and Brandon Battams and Sinnott all went close on a few occasions but Rovers couldn’t find the breakthrough, sometimes just trying to force the issue rather than their usual slick passing game. Nil all at half time and a big team talk worked as five minutes into the second half good play by winger Evan Conyard saw him beat his man and cut the ball across the box to Lorcan Sinnott who tapped home for a deserved lead. More good play by Conyard and Cian Byrne put Brandon Battams through five minutes later and the powerful midfielder crashed his effort off the crossbar. Harri Armstrong then won a penalty after tireless work up front. Up stepped Sinnott who made no mistake from 12 yards out. Tom O'Donoghue went close from thirty five yards out before Daniel Kavanagh deservedly finished after great work late on. Another win another clean sheet and this team is going from strength to strength. Big performances on the day from the whole team.
